2014 Party for International Students at Nagaoka University of Technology Held
“2014 Party for International Students at Nagaoka University of Technology” was held at SECOM Hall, Nagaoka University of Technology (NUT) on December 10 (Wed.) The party has been held annually to express our gratitude to those people, inside and outside of NUT, who always support international students and who continue in their interactions with them. This year, about 200 international students, Japanese students, and teaching staff and about 40 guests participated in the party, which was extremely successful.
After Dr. Niihara, President, and Mr. Tomonobu Haga, a guest and Director of Nagaoka International Exchange Center, made speeches, the party started with a toast led by Prof. Kazunori Sato, Head of the Center for International Exchange and Education, NUT. Each table was engaged in pleasant talk related to the everyday life of international students.
Following a word of thanks by Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, President of the International Students Association, international students started their performance. Sri Lankan students played the sitar. International students from Myanmar performed dances. The hall resounded with a storm of applause from participants.
Closing time approached while participants had a pleasant talk. The party ended with a closing speech delivered by Dr. Muto, Executive Director and Vice President.
