Overseas Alumni Meeting (Myanmar) Held
On Sunday, March 1, 2015, the Overseas Alumni Meeting (Myanmar) was held at the Golden Duck Restaurant in Yangon, Myanmar. To date, 29 international students from Myanmar have enrolled. Currently nine students are studying at Nagaoka University of Technology.
On that day, in addition to seven alumni from Myanmar, Dr. Muto (Executive Director and Vice President), Dr. Aketagawa (Professor of Mechanical Engineering), Dr. Iwahashi (Professor of Electrical, Electronics and Information Engineering), and Dr. Otsuka (Associate Professor of System Safety) were NUT participants at the event.
Many of NUT’s alumni of Myanmar graduated from major universities in the country, such as Yangon Technological University (YTU) and the University of Computer Studies, Yangon (UCSY), which have concluded an exchange agreement with NUT. They eagerly engaged in discussion with teachers from NUT about future educational exchange with the universities.
Myanmar is regarded as a base country in NUT’s “Top Global University Project.” The alumni spoke with enthusiasm about their desire to cooperate in NUT’s challenges in Myanmar by those who gathered this time playing central roles.
