Nagaoka University of Technology participated from the outset in the JICA project named “Development of Mechatronics Engineering Course at Bachelor Degree Level in Pathumwan Technical College in the Kingdom of Thailand (1993~2000)”. We cooperated on the improvement and expansion of education and research systems through exchanges such as cooperation on the establishment of Department of Mechatronics Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, dispatch of expert teachers from NUT, including former President Dr. Hattori, and acceptance of teachers from PIT. Even after the JICA project was completed, we concluded an academic cooperation agreement in 2000 and have remained engaged in active exchanges through the mutual dispatch of students and faculty members, holding of joint seminars, and so on.
