Project Objective

高専―技科大 教育システムをメキシコへ展開する図のイメージNagaoka University of Technology (NUT) and the National Institute of Technology (KOSEN) have jointly developed a practical engineering education program that links KOSEN colleges to NUT, and begins when students are 15 years of age. This project aims to bring about the first overseas implementation of this integrated program (KOSEN-UT* engineering education system) in Mexico to foster the development of engineers who can serve as a bridge between Japan and Mexico.

Establishment of an internationally collaborative engineering education model

The project will implement the KOSEN-UT engineering education system in cooperation with Mexico as an internationally collaborative engineering education model involving the exchange of Japanese and Mexican students.

Fostering globally competitive, practical and leading engineers

Through multiple overseas experiences, students from both Japan and Mexico will gain an awareness of the importance of solving problems on a global scale. In this way, the education program will foster the development of practical and leading engineers who are globally competitive.

Development of engineering teaching materials

In order to produce trilingual engineers who can serve as a bridge between both countries, the project will develop engineering teaching materials in Japanese, English and Spanish to support the studies of the Japanese and Mexican students.
