In 2014, the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) started the "Sakura Science Program." Since then, the program has invited young talented people worldwide for short visits to Japan and has given them the opportunity to experience Japan’s latest scientific technology and culture. The program has made wide public searches and adopted exchange plans, which were prepared by partners of Japanese receiving organizations and overseas sending organization. Beginning in 2014, and for a period of 6 years, over 33,000 young people visited Japan on this program.

さくらサイエンスプログラムは、新たな時代の社会を担う、世界の優れた人材を日本に短期間招き、日本の最先端な科学技術や文化に触れてもらうプログラムです。日本の受入れ機関と、海外の送出し機関が作成した交流計画を幅広く公募し、採択しています。2014年のスタートから6年間で約33,000人の若者の招へいが実現しました。

■■■■ 2021 Online Program ■■■■

Overview of the program:

Asso.Prof.Dr.Ohnuma conducted an online exchange program with 3 universities in Vietnam from the point of view of bioengineering. In online lectures, academic staff of NUT lectured Vietnam students about earth-friendly technology, one of the main subjects of SDGs, and in the final lecture, a Japanese company which is contributing SDGs lectured them about their activities and products by online. In addition, both students from Japan and Vietnam introduced their laboratory to each other, it was a great opportunity for invitation to Japan in the near future.

SDGsをテーマに、生命・生物工学の視点からベトナムの３大学とオンライン交流を行いました。全５回の講義ではSDGsの中心課題ともいえるヒトと地球に優しい技術を紹介し、
最終回ではオンラインでSDGsに貢献している日本企業とつなぎ、その活動と製品について理解を深めました。また、双方の研究紹介が学生間で交わされ、招へいに向けた有意義な交流となりました。

Overview of the program:

Prof.Kawahara conducted an online experiment combining research results with the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur on the invention of recyclable polymers, which is one of the important issues for building a sustainable society.

Through this online exchange, doctoral students from both sides were able to deepen their exchanges by conducting joint research.

持続可能な社会を構築するために重要な課題となっているリサイクル可能なポリマーの創製について、インド工科大学カラグプール校と研究成果を組み合わせる実験をオンラインにて行いました。
今回のオンライン交流を通じて、双方の博士課程の学生が共同研究を実施することで交流を深めることができました。
