About SDG Professional Course

Overview

In 2015, the United Nations designated a set of 17 global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to be achieved by 2030. Nagaoka University of Technology (NUT) has dedicated to accomplish these goals, and the SDG Professional Course is established according to the concept of SDGs. This is a graduate engineering course aiming at nurturing practical engineers, researchers and educators with high level of expertise.

The course structure of SDG Professional Course can be traced back to the International Graduate Course for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) conducted by NUT since 1996. CPD was founded to support the technological and scientific advancement in developing countries, and more than 300 leading engineers and educators have graduated from this course. By advancing and upgrading the previous CPD, the SDG Professional Course collaborates with various Japanese industrial sectors to provide practical learning opportunities for students from all over the world.

We anticipate that SDG Professional Course graduates will take part in global technological and scientific developments, and contribute to the accomplishment of the SDGs in the near future.
