Holding of the 6th Term Student SDGs Promoter Appointment Ceremony and Promoter Meeting

On Wednesday, June 11th, the appointment ceremony for the 6th term Student SDGs Promoters for the 2025 academic year was held. Student SDGs Promoters are appointed to work with faculty and staff to encourage students to think freely about activities to achieve the SDGs. It is a student organization for promoting dissemination and awareness of the SDGs both on and off the campus.

A total of 40 students, including 30 international students and 10 Japanese students, ranging from undergraduate to doctoral students, were appointed as the 6th term Student SDGs Promoters. At the appointment ceremony, Prof. Yamaguchi, Director of the Office for SDGs Promotion, handed a letter of commission to each of them. Regarding the activities for this academic year, Prof. Yamaguchi explained that new initiatives will be added. These include writing articles introducing SDGs-related events and research. It was also confirmed that these activities will further promote the spread of the SDGs in collaboration with the promoters.

After the appointment ceremony, the participants were divided into small groups to exchange opinions on future SDGs Promoter Activities. This meeting has further strengthened sharing of activity guidelines among the promoters and is expected to stimulate SDGs Promotion Activities based on the students' ideas.

Our university will continue to work as one to promote initiatives to achieve the SDGs.
