An exchange meeting between local companies and international students was held
September 08, 2025
On Wednesday, August 27, an exchange meeting between local companies and international students was held at Nagaoka University of Technology, NUT. This meeting, titled "Exchange Meeting between Companies in Niigata Prefecture and International Students 2025: Paving the Way for the Future of Regional Companies with Global Talent" (hosted by Niigata Prefecture and International University of Japan, IUJ), provided a valuable opportunity for discussion.
The meeting was a trial run for a new project-based course being developed at our university, which was selected by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology for its " Multicultural Campus Project toward Social Impact (Type I)." Four local companies and nine international students (seven from NUT and two from IUJ) gathered to exchange ideas and discuss the challenges that companies face in promoting their international business expansion.
For the students, it was a chance to learn about real-world business challenges and to consider their future studies and career paths through direct dialogue with local companies. For the companies, it provided new perspectives on solving their challenges through interaction with students from diverse backgrounds. It was a meaningful and fruitful time for participants, and despite the short duration, both sides gained new insights.
We will continue to collaborate with local companies to cultivate talents who can identify problems and propose solutions.
