January 05, 2026
On December 17, Wednesday, the DX Manufacturing Workshop 2025 took place at MIRAIE Nagaoka in a hybrid format, with both on-site and online participation as a part of the Inter-University Exchange Project.
Students from NUT and the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IITM) organized this workshop, which was the third time to be conducted. There was a fruitful exchange of ideas with students from partner universities--the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IITM), the Indian Institute of Technology Palakkad (IITP), and the Indian Institute of Technology Indore (IITI), as well as with attendees from the UK, Malaysia, and other countries and regions.
We invited as lecturers, Prof. G. Saravana Kumar, from the Indian Institution of Technology, which is a partner university of the Inter-University Exchange Project, Prof. Shuhei Miyashita from the University of Sheffield, UK and Prof. C. Panwisawas from Queen Mary University of London.
The professors gave us lectures about leading-edge research outcomes, such as "Strength Evaluation for Additive Manufactured Materials," "Life, Robots, and Embodied Intelligence: Strength and Fragility in the UK Academic Environment," "Design for Additive Manufacturing," and "Computational Materials Engineering: From Multi-Scale, Multi-Physics Modeling to Science-Informed Materials Discovery."
After the lectures, we held student poster sessions and demonstrations of the multidimensional campus (XC) experience. There were also active Q&A sessions and discussions.
From now on, we will hold these research exchanges continuously. Through these exchanges, we would aim to cultivate international human resources and strengthen our global reach.
