Trial Lectures of Multicultural Collaborative Learning Classes by Overseas Specially Appointed Faculty were Conducted
March 31, 2026
The "Multicultural Collaborative Learning Classes," which are one of the main initiatives of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology's project "Multicultural Campus Project Toward Social Impact," adopted by our university, will officially start in FY2026. Prior to this, trial lectures were conducted on Thursday, February 26 and Friday, March 6, by specially appointed faculties.
Japanese students and international students worked on one assignment in the same groups, and deepened their understanding of the issues through group discussions and presentations. All lectures were conducted in English.
The students who attended the lectures made comments such as "depending on each person's background and position, even the same matter can be viewed and thought about differently," and "I thought I wasn't good at speaking in English, but I was able to take the class enjoyably "and" it was good to be able to discuss from different perspectives from international students."
This trial lecture became an opportunity for students to experience multicultural collaborative learning and to gain many learnings and much inspiration.
Over the one-year period since last March, a total of seven trial lectures by overseas specially appointed faculties were conducted. Based on questionnaire results and other data, we have run the PDCA cycle and made continuous improvements so that higher educational effects can be obtained for students of our university.
From April of FY2026, the "Multicultural Collaborative Learning Classes" will be fully launched. In the first fiscal year, 18 subjects will be positioned as multicultural collaborative classes, while respecting values different from their own, we will promote the development of R&D Professionals who work together to address issues.
