Holding of the 7th Term Student SDGs Promoter Orientation Meeting and Discussion Session

On Thursday, June 18th, the appointment ceremony for the 7th term Student SDGs Promoters for the 2026 academic year was held. Student SDGs Promoters are appointed to work with faculty and staff to encourage students to think freely about activities to achieve the SDGs. It is a student organization for promoting dissemination and awareness of the SDGs both on and off the campus.
A total of 36 students, including 32 international students and 4 Japanese students, ranging from undergraduate to doctoral students, were appointed as the 7th term Student SDGs Promoters. At the appointment ceremony, Prof. Yamaguchi, Director of the SDGs Promotion Office, handed a letter of commission to a representative of the promoters. Regarding the activities for this academic year, Prof. Yamaguchi explained about SDGs events and "SDGs Activity Scoop" which involves writing articles introducing SDGs-related events and research. It was also confirmed that these activities will further promote the spread of the SDGs in collaboration with the promoters.
Following the Orientation Meeting, discussion session was held in small groups to discuss future SDGs Promoter activities. The session not only strengthened collaboration among the promoters and deepened their shared understanding of the activity's direction, but it also raised expectations for further revitalizing SDGs promotion activities driven by students' ideas.
Our university will continue to work as one to promote initiatives to achieve the SDGs.
