Nagaoka University of Technology (NUT) has appointed as a United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI) SDG9 Hub for three terms in a row
Over the first (2018-2021) and second (2021-2024) terms,Nagaoka University of Technology (NUT) has promoted education and research as an SDG9 hub for achieving every goal, with a focus on Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure). Through SDG lectures and SDG-related events, We have created opportunities for coming into contact with SDGs, raised SDG awareness in local communities, strove for fostering the understanding that SDGs are "our own affairs" and promoted activities for social contributions toward achieving SDGs
On this occasion, We have been officially appointed once again by the United Nations as an SDG9 hub for a third term (2025-2027). For the third term, instead of the hitherto system of having one goal per university, each goal will have multiple universities appointed as UNAI SDG hubs. A Chair (chief university) and three Vice-Chairs (deputy universities: teaching and education, research, and social collaboration) are selected per goal, and we has been chosen as the hub (in charge of research) for Goal 9.w
We will continue aiming to nurture human resources who possess advanced technical and academic ability, the spirit of VOS (Vitality, Originality and Services), and fullness of character. As the institution placed in charge of research, the faculty and staff will work together to form a foundation for industrial and technological innovation through SDG9-oriented research, and work toward the realization of a sustainable world.WE
We deeply appreciate your continued support.
