2014.07.24

For the sixth class students of the Mexico Twinning Program at the Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon and Universidad de Monterrey who were hoping to enter Nagaoka University of Technology (NUT) in 2015, we offered a summer course between June 29 (Sun.) and July 13 (Sun.), 2014.

The summer course is intended to improve Japanese language ability and basic ability in engineering to receive engineering education in Japan a year later, which has been implemented every year since 2009.

Eight students who came to Japan were assigned to laboratories. They attended practice in laboratories, lectures of specialized subjects, and Japanese language classes every day. Furthermore, outside the campus, they were able to have valuable experiences to come into contact with Japanese industry and culture, with cooperation of people involved in the Nagaoka National Highway Office and Yuzawa Sabo Office, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Hokuriku Regional Development Bureau, Taisei Corporation, and NHK Niigata Broadcast Station, with warm support from host families.

Students will take the entrance examination for the third year of NUT in the autumn of 2014. Successful students are to come to Japan in April 2015 and receive education during the latter half of the program.
