On Wednesday, May 18, 2016, President Dr. Azuma received a courtesy call from Rajamangala University of Technology Rattanakosin, Thailand, one of our overseas partner universities. The party comprised Dr. Siwa Wasuntarapiwat, President; Dr. Udomvit Chaisakulkiet, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Research; Dr. Chulalak Paiboonfungfueng, Vice President for International Affairs; Dr. Teerin Kongpun, Director of Language Center and ASEAN Studies; and Dr. Pallsan Rojanapanich, Assistant to the President for International Affairs.

In a meeting with President Dr. Azuma, Executive Director and Vice President Dr. Mikami, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kawahara, Department of Materials Science and Technology, overviews and challenges for each university were introduced. Then opinions on student and researcher exchanges to date were actively exchanged.

The party of Rajamangala University of Technology visited Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kawahara’s laboratory and other facilities and heard an explanation about the research contents from Dr. Kawahara.

Since an academic cooperation agreement was concluded in April 2005, Nagaoka University of Technology and Rajamangala University of Technology have mutually exchanged students. We will continue to enhance cooperation with them as an important base school for our university.
