Nagaoka University of Technology (NUT) has been promoting the establishment of office at overseas strategic regions toward the “Top Global University Project” lunched by MEXT (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology) in order to support global industry-academia-government activities, and consequently BC3-NUT Office opened in Basque Country, Spain on 1st April, 2017.

Basque Centre for Climate Change (BC3) located in University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) and BC3-NUT Office established at the 1st floor of BC3. This is the sixth office following Mongolia, Mexico, Viet Nam, Thailand, and Malaysia.

This office enhances the liaison among BC3, UPV/EHU, Mondragon University, University of Deusto, Europe, NUT, and industrial sectors. Besides that, it supports expansion of education program and accepting internship students, and promotes Industry-Academia activities.

On 22nd May, Web Opening Ceremony was held using video-conference system (Super GI-net). Dr. Nobuhiko AZUMA, President/NUT and Dr. María José Sanz, Scientific Director/BC3 conveyed their greetings and congratulatory messages. Ms. Nerea Ortiz/General Manager, Dr. Sérgio Henrique Faria/Ikerbasque Research Professor, and Ms. Itxaso Ruiz Uriarte/Junior Researcher from BC3, Dr. Tadachika NAKAYAMA/Science of Technology Innovation Professor, Dr. Hiromi ISOBE/ Mechanical Engineering Associate Professor, Mr. Takahashi/Industry-Academia-Government Cooperation Coordinator, and other staff concerned from NUT attended this ceremony.

We will closely cooperate with BC3 and expand collaborative activities through BC3-NUT Office in the future.
