NUT participated in the “Citizen Exchange Festival” of Mitsuke City in Niigata, SDGs Future City.

更新日:2019年10月10日

On Saturday, October 5, NUT participated in the “Citizen Exchange Festival” held in Mitsuke City's Nable Mitsuke. The “Citizen Exchange Festival” is an event in which citizen organizations introduce their daily activities and deepen interaction with citizens on the themes of meeting, interaction, and connectivity.

Mitsuke City is a municipality that is actively engaged in SDGs, with the goal of deepening and establishing a "Walkable City" that enables people to live on foot, and being selected as a "SDGs Future City" by the Cabinet Office in 2019.

NUT has been appointed as the United Nations Academic Impact SDGs Hub for Goal 9, and has been implementing a number of activities to promote understanding of SDGs through games. Therefore, NUT was invited to participate in this event, which was held in the center of Mitsuke City, with the aim of ensuring that Mitsuke citizens understand the SDGs in an easy-to-understand manner.
On that day, many people from children to elderly visited our booth, and together with the students of NUT, they enjoyed playing SDGs carom and SDGs quiz developed by NUT to deepen their understanding of the SDGs.
In participating in this event, we received cooperation from the “International Educational Study Group RING”, a study group within specified non-profit corporation Niigata NGO Network, such as putting up posters.
NUT will continue to work with local communities, local governments and non-profit organizations to promote efforts to promote understanding of SDGs.
