Cancellation of FY2020 Entrance Ceremony (2nd Notice)

At present, the Government of Japan has taken irregular countermeasures against spreading infection of the novel coronavirus as the government marks this moment the curial stage.

We have also been taking necessary countermeasures against the virus forming Head Office for Crisis Management; however, alternative countermeasures are, at this moment, required in Niigata prefecture as cases of the virus has been confirmed within the prefecture. Under these circumstances, we have gathered information and examined situations in regards to hosting of events and other functions involving NUT students and faculty members. As a result, we have decided to cancel the both undergraduate and graduate entrance ceremonies.

The entrance ceremony is an important ceremony that serves as a milestone in student and family member’s life, and we believe that many new students are looking forward to participate; although, we reached to this painful decision to prioritize the health and safety of everyone who intended to participate.

We kindly request your kind understanding and cooperation.

A congratulatory message from president is scheduled to be announced on the university website.
