Notice of Changes in FY2019 Graduation Ceremony (2nd Notice)

At present, the Government of Japan has taken irregular countermeasures against spreading infection of the novel coronavirus as the government marks this moment the curial stage.

We have also been taking necessary countermeasures against the virus forming Head Office for Crisis Management; however, alternative countermeasures are, at this moment, required in Niigata prefecture as cases of the virus has been confirmed within the prefecture. Under these circumstances, we have gathered information and examined situations in regards to hosting of events and other functions involving NUT students and faculty members. As a result, we decided to hold the ceremony only with graduate student representatives in order to minimize the number of participants.

The Graduation Ceremony are important ceremonies that serve as a milestone in student and family member’s life, and we believe that many expected graduates are looking forward to participate; although, we came to the hard decision to prioritize the health and safety of everyone who intended to participate.

The ceremony will be conducted in a small scale; however, no matter how the situation changes, our thoughts cerebrating graduate students are nothing but the same as before. We are hosting the ceremony celebrating graduate students for their bright new beginning in the coming future.

The ceremony will be broadcast on live from the University website. We encourage everyone to take the chance to participate by viewing the broadcast.

Diploma will be conferred at each laboratory for students who are not representatives. Details will be announced later. Please check for the latest information when released.

Because the situation keeps changing daily, we are still watching the situation and might take another measures. Please pay close attention to the university website.

The new schedule and venue are as follows.

Undergraduate and Graduate Graduation Ceremony will be held together at a same time.

2. Venue: Lecture room A
