On June 16, 2020 (Tue.) at Nagaoka University of Technology (NUT) SECOM Hall, Nagaoka International Exchange Association (NIEA) delivered food subsidy packages to 230 NUT international students. The event was sponsored by Harashin Cooperation.
This project was launched to support international students who were living at Nagaoka City and working hard to overcome effects of COVID-19, for example the decrease of part time income.
Mr. IGARASHI Yasuo, the Councilor of NIEA and the Vice President and Director of Axial Retailing Inc., handed over food packages to Mr. Javier Vallejo Flores (Mexican, Department of Mechanical Engineering) and Mr. Ha Phuong Nam (Vietnamese, Department of Science of Technology Innovation), Presidents of Nagaoka University of Technology International Student Association (NUTISA). Mr. Igarashi encouraged them: “Do not give up because of COVID-19 and please keep focus on your study”, and both of them showed gratitude with short speeches.
Prof. YUKAWA Takashi, Vice President (International Relations and Information Technologies), and Prof. TAKIMOTO Koichi, Presidential Aide (International Affairs), participated the presentation ceremony as well.
We will continue to support students by various means with generous donation from alumni association and from the public.
