“Industry-Academia Collaboration Activities Report and Meeting for Information Exchange, discussing corporate globalization and the acceptance of high-level global engineers” was held.
On Friday, July 15th, NUT held an Industry-Academia Collaboration Activities report and Meeting for Information Exchange, discussing corporate globalization and the acceptance of high-level global engineers. The meeting was held in a hybrid format, using both a webcast and an on-site venue (Machinaka Campus Nagaoka).
The meeting invited the participation of companies with a track record of accepting high-level global engineers through the GIGAKU Techno Park (GTP) network, which connects our overseas bases. The participating companies reported on their experiences accepting high-level global engineers.
The meeting started with opening remarks by the organizer, Dr. UMEDA Minoru, Executive Director & Vice President. After this, Professor KOBAYASHI Takaomi reported on international industry-academia collaboration activities via the GTP network. Subsequently, Mr. SANO Hirofumi, an official from the Nagaoka city government, and Ms. SASAKI Kumiko, an Immigration Lawyer who provides support for procedures related to accepting overseas talent, discussed the efforts being made by the local government in Nagaoka City as an example of support in this regard.
This was followed by reports on accepting high-level global engineers by Mr. KANDA Takashi from Sakata Seisakusho Co., Ltd. and Mr. MINAGAWA Yasuhiro from the Minagawa Corporation., and Vietnamese engineers hired by the two companies were also in attendance. After the meeting ended, individual consultation meetings with Professor KOBAYASHI were held for those wishing to participate in the in-person event.
After the meeting, a lively question-and-answer session was held, in which participants asked many questions about the speakers’ experiences accepting high-level global engineers. The meeting was a great success, with a large number of online participants as well.
