NUT held the Twinning Program Alumni Reunion in Mexico

更新日:2024年9月25日

The first overseas alumni reunion of Mexico was held at the University of Monterrey in Mexico on Saturday, September 7, 2024. Since 2007, our university has been conducting the Twinning Program (TP) with the University of Monterrey and University of Nuevo Leon, producing a total of 82 graduates to date. Many of them are practicing engineers not only in Japan and Mexico but also around the world. On the day of the event, a total of 68 people gathered, including about 20 alumni, current TP students studying at either university, and representatives from both universities. From our university, President Shigeharu Kamado, Prof. Osamu Takahashi (Vice President of International Relations and NUT Alumni), Prof. Yukio Miyashita (Special Presidential Aide for Global Education Affairs), and Prof. Naoko Lee-Iizuka (Presidential Aide for International Student Affairs) participated in the alumni renuion. Everyone was delighted to reunite after a long time, sharing updates and reminiscing about the past. The venue was filled with laughter and enthusiasm.

In addition to the TP, we have been conducting student exchanges and acceptances through industry-academia collaboration focused on overseas long-term internship and practical training, as well as language training programs in Spanish and English, and faculty exchanges with both universities. Recently, exchanges among administrative staff have also begun. It was a reunion where we once again realized the strong relationship we have built, maintained, and developed. Furthermore, since many graduates are active in Japan, we plan to hold domestic reunions in the future.
