Visit to Romania
On 13 and 14 May, Dr. Ohishi, Executive Director and Vice President (Program Coordinator of the WISE Program), Dr. Yukawa, Vice President (Director of the Education Division of the WISE Program), Prof. Mikami, Special Advisor to the President, Prof. Nakayama, Vice-Coordinator of the WISE Program, and Mr. Vlad Cristian, Industry-Academia Cooperation Coordinator of the WISE Program, visited Romanian-American University, Bucharest University of Economic Studies, and Universitatea Babes-Bolyai. During this trip, we shared the principles of the WISE Program and made arrangements for them to become host organizations for the overseas research internship program.

♦ Romanian-American University
Every year, several hundred students enroll in the Japanese Language Education Program at the Department of Asian Studies, Romanian-American University. It is one of the most prestigious institutions of higher education where Japanese learners gather.
♦ Bucharest University of Economic Studies
This institution was derived from the Faculty of Economy, University of Bucharest, and is known for its top-level practical economic and industrial research.
♦ Universitatea Babes-Bolyai
The city of Cluj-Napoca, the third largest city in Romania where Universitatea Babes-Bolyai is located, is called the Silicon Valley of Europe because a wide variety of tech companies are concentrated around this university.
