The alumni reunion for graduates residing in the Ho Chi Minh City region was held in Ho Chi Minh City on Saturday, April 19, 2025. The event, initiated by Dr. Dang Dang Tung (Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology), a graduate of Nagaoka University of Technology, brought together over 30 participants, including individuals affiliated with Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, making it a lively and successful gathering. In addition to graduates living in Ho Chi Minh City, the event also welcomed graduates from the Da Nang Twinning Program, as well as graduates who were on business trips to Ho Chi Minh City from Hanoi and Japan. Participants joyfully reunited, sharing updates on their current lives with smiles, while reminiscing about their student days in Nagaoka under the theme of “Cherishing Memories”.

From our university, six representatives attended the event: President Kamado, Special Presidential Aide Prof. Naoko Lee-Iizuka, Presidential Aide Prof. Toru Sasaki, Chair of the Ho Chi Minh Twinning Program (TP) Committee, Assoc. Prof. Manada, and two Vice Chairs of the TP Committee, Prof. Doi and Assoc. Prof. Tamayama. President Kamado engaged in conversations with each graduate, expressing deep admiration for their international achievements in various fields and gaining a renewed appreciation for the outcomes of the university's international collaborative education efforts. Additionally, the event's organizer, Dr. Dang Dang Tung, delivered an inspiring message, emphasizing the importance of fostering connections among graduates from various generations in the Ho Chi Minh City region. He highlighted the value of sharing the experiences gained through studying at the university with younger students and those aspiring to study abroad, as well as revitalizing alumni activities in the Ho Chi Minh City region.

This reunion served as a valuable opportunity to reaffirm the importance of the relationship between alumni and their alma mater. Such connections with graduates and regionally rooted networks are expected to play a significant role in the university's international development efforts.
