In our laboratory, we are conducting research to elucidate the mechanisms of the following
Acoustic excitation: a phenomenon in which a flame is bifurcated or shortened by the application of sound waves to the flame, and is useful for combustion control.
Smoldering Combustion: Combustion without flame, which is dangerous because combustion occurs with a weak heat source.
Thermophoresis: is a phenomenon in which microparticles move from the hot side to the cold side in the gas phase with a temperature gradient.
Reignition: Flames reappear from combustibles that remain after flames have been extinguished by firefighting activities, and are difficult to extinguish reliably.
