Our teacher's advice is based on what he has learned from experiences in Japan and abroad, so we can learn a lot.

Research Content

Our research's overall goal is to understand the cellular level
dynamics of human embryos and develop a microfluidic system for
testing drug safety for the fetus.
We utilize human induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells to tackle this issue.
1: Single-cell analysis of cell migration to understand morphogenesis
2: Development of microfluidic to culture human iPS cells
3: Effects of teratogenic drugs on human embryo
4: Planarian cell culture for understanding regeneration dynamics

A Day in the Lab

1. Laboratory timetable: The laboratory starts at 9:30 in the morning. Everyone in the lab will discuss about daily acience news and report the schedule for that day. After the morning meeting, we are free to do our planned experiments. We report experimental progress once a week, etc.
2. Atmosphere of laboratory: Since overyone gathers on weekdays, all students can be familiar with each other. We do the experiment while help each other, and we also have a chat.
3. Extracurricular activity: We will go out for lunch to celebrate the member's birthday, for cherry blossoms and Nagaoka fireworks, etc.
