SDGs Promotion by Other Means
Global Pro-Active Root Technology Program

This program aims to produce professionals with profound knowledge of fundamental technology, which is the basis of industries related to the intermix of materials science and power engineering. This program will contribute to solution of SDGs and nourish the following four categories of international-level faculties;
- Pioneering power in academic fieldswhere doctoral researchers cultivate their original research ideas
- Leading-edge IT capacitywhere knowledge continuously progresses instead of impromptu cramming
- Pioneering human powerwhere unknown areas are explored through broad human networks
- Social implementation and execution abilitieswhere challenges facing industries are solved
GIGAKU SDG Network Engineering Education: Online Learning Hub
We produced an SDGs educational material kit for e-learning in which members of the GIGAKU SDG Network presented in English (1) an introduction to their country, (2) an introduction to their institution (a university, KOSEN, or a company), and (3) their SDG-oriented research and activities. Subtitles in six languages were added to the videos, and the versions with each language have been made publicly available.
Top Global University Project

Until the end of FY2023, in our TGU project, “The Education Program for Innovative Global Engineers: Toward development of an integrated global campus with collaboration between industry, academia, and government,” we looked toward the future globalization of Japan's economy. We envisioned "the university leading innovative global engineering education with a strong network among world-leading strategic regions in the next generation" as an element of our 10-year vision, and implemented that vision through the following pillars:
- Promoted the KOSEN-University of Technology (GIGAKU) Education and Research Model in next-generation strategic regions and established the "GIGAKU Education and Research Network"
- Promoted the Industry-Academia Cooperation Model in overseas strategic regions and established the "GIGAKU Techno Park Network"
- Advanced world-leading research in technical fields that met the demands of global society
Global Academia-Industry Consortium for Collaborative Education (GAICCE)

GAICCE was established as part of the Top Global University Project within the framework of the JICA AUN/SEED-Net Collaborative Education Program (CEP). The CEP allowed institutes to set up a consortium in collaboration with Japanese universities and other ASEAN universities to work with industry. GAICCE supported double-degree program students with scholarships from AUN/SEED-Net and promoted the mobility of students, faculty, and staff.
Through this GAICCE program, we supported international students in the ASEAN region. Furthermore, we created a sustainable, multidisciplinary, and multilateral cooperative environment by utilizing the GTP network and NUT’s education program. This program formed strong SDGs networking between Japan and ASEAN countries through research and academic collaborations.
