UNESCO Chair on Engineering Education for Sustainable Development

UNESCO Chair Programme / GIGAKU SDG Institute

Entitled "GIGAKU SDG Institute", UNESCO Chair on Engineering Education for Sustainable Development was established at Nagaoka University of Technology, within the framework of the UNITWIN/UNESCO Chairs Programme.

The UNITWIN/UNESCO Chair is a Programme which promotes international inter-university cooperation and networking to enhance institutional capacities through knowledge sharing and collaborative work. The networks and chairs serve as think tanks and as bridge builders between academia, civil society, local communities, research and policy-making.

GIGAKU SDG Institute was the ninth established UNESCO Chair Programme in Japan (the first in Univ. of Tech.).
