As one of the initiatives of Top Global University Project by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), Nagaoka University of Technology has been establishing offices in strategic overseas regions to support global research-education collaborations and global industry-academia collaborations. On Friday, October 11, we opened the Romania-NUT (RAU) office in Bucharest, Romania.
Romania-NUT office is 12th in 9 countries after Mongolia, Mexico (three offices), Viet Nam (Hanoi & Ho Chi Minh), Thailand, Malaysia, India, Spain/Basque, and Chile.
After the signing ceremony, Dr. Ovidiu Folcut / Rector of RAU, Mr. Takahiko WATABE / Counsellor, Deputy head of mission, Embassy of Japan in Romania, and Dr. Nobuhiko AZUMA / President of NUT delivered a congratulatory speech. Afterwards, ribbon-cutting ceremony was performed in front of new office. The opening ceremony was successfully completed in a peaceful atmosphere.
We will continue to strengthen our relationship through academia-industry collaboration (GTP activities) with RAU, overseas universities, and companies.

- NUT established the Romania-NUT Office jointly with Babes-Bolyai University.
- NUT established the Romanian-NUT Office jointly with Romanian-American University
- NUT participated in the “Citizen Exchange Festival” of Mitsuke City in Niigata, SDGs Future City.
- At the National Culture Festival and the National Arts and Culture Festival for Persons with Disabilities, the works in which NUT students participated were screened and exhibited.
- Students from Nagaoka Junior High School visited to study SDGs.
- NUT President Advisor delivered the speech at the BIZ EXPO2019 lecture meeting "Regional SMEs × SDGs".
- An agreement of academic and educational collaboration and a memorandum for exchange of students were signed between Lomonosov Moscow State University and Nagaoka University of Technology.
