Research Content
We study thermoelectric materials and thermal energy storage materials. Only about 30% of primary energy is utilized effectively, while the remaining 70% is wasted as heat. By using thermoelectric materials, which can directly convert heat into electricity, it becomes possible to recover the wasted heat energy as electrical power. We also study solid–solid phase transition materials as thermal storage materials. It can be used in solid-state thermal storage systems and enables thermal management in electronic devices.
We have a morning seminar every weekday from 8:00 a.m., where one student reports their research progress each day. The main purpose is to receive feedback and advice from the professor and lab members and apply it to our research. By listening to projects in different fields, students deepen their expertise and broaden their research perspective. In addition, we hold a weekly seminar to present English papers and a study group using textbooks, so even students with little background knowledge can build solid expertise by graduation.
