Prof. Katsumi is friendly and easy to talk to. He is always available to discuss research with you. Furthermore, outside of research activities, he is very close to the students.
Research Content
We focuses on research topics related to combustion, energy, and thermofluid dynamics. Experimental studies are mainly conducted, but in recent we have also carry out numerical analysis.
A representative study is the ignition characteristics of green propellants for thruster (small-size rocket). In order to replace conventional propellants that are toxic to the human with safe green propellants, we are evaluating their feasibility of green propellants experimentaly.
Other research projects inclueds the research on the combustion sefety of hydrogen-air mixtures, the development of power generation system using catalytic combustion of biogas, and the development of electric pumps for propellant supply system.

A Day in the Lab
Meetings are held twice a week, and our lab has no core hours. You can conduct your research according to your availability and together with a senior student. You can learn and find your research theme by assisting a senior who has a related theme to yours. In addition, you can join various events, aside from research activities, such as a party.
