We aim to develop innovative length-measurement and instrumentation systems by integrating diverse fields such as information science, applied optics, measurement engineering, and control engineering—effectively fusing information, light, and mechanics.
Research Content
We develop length-measurement and 3D shape measurement systems utilizing various lasers, including femtosecond optical frequency combs. Our challenge lies in creating novel measurement systems—both hardware and software—that enable micro-length and micro-structure measurements, which are difficult to achieve with conventional optical instruments. Our primary research focus is to explore the potential of new technologies in measurement and control engineering by leveraging information science.
A Day in the Lab
Our laboratory holds weekly progress report meetings and journal clubs. In the progress meetings, students report their latest results and receive direct advice from professors. During the journal clubs, we read and discuss English research papers related to our own projects to deepen our understanding and improve our language skills. Students are also welcome to contact professors anytime to discuss research or student life. As we have no core hours, students are free to manage their own schedules and come to the lab or student room at their convenience to focus on their research.
