Research Content

In our laboratory, we are investigating measurement and control methods on the order of nano (one billionth) and pico (one trillionth) meters. Our goal is to contribute to the development of nanotechnology.Currently, We are researching the following topics.
[1]Development of a sinusoidal phase interferometer using Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA)
[2]Development of a laser linemeter that analyzes air fluctuations and compensates for them using deep learning
[3]Measuring the crystal lattice spacing of graphite (0.25 nm) using a scanning tunneling microscope (STM) and verifying the interpolation method below the lattice spacing

A Day in the Lab

Our laboratory holds seminars twice a week. The first one is where we read academic papers in English to improve our English proficiency and professional knowledge. The other is to share research progress with members and exchange opinions. There is no core time for students to independently proceed with their research. Therefore, each student develops a research plan, and if there are any problems, they consult with their teachers and laboratory members as they proceed with their research.
Our laboratory provides an environment where it is easy to talk to teachers and students, and conduct research. There are also events such as Nagaoka fireworks viewing.
