Professor / ENDO Takahiro
Prof. Endo is kind person easy to talk, and gives accurate advice to each student. He frequently visits the students room, making us easy to consult with him not only about research but also about other matters. He is a kind and supportive professor.

Research Content

This laboratory conducts research on theories and techniques related to the control and development of intelligent machines. The control of them includes guidance control and formation control of robot swarms consisting of multiple robots, and cooperative control of machine system swarms consisting of multiple space phases. In addition, to develop intelligent machine systems that can support humans, we are conducting research and development based on haptics (tactile science), such as systems to enhance human fingertip perception and human motor learning (technology transfer) systems. We are interested in a wide range of subjects, from artificial objects to living organisms.

A Day in the Lab

In our laboratory, as a foundation for conducting research, we have weekly meetings where we read books on the fundamentals of control engineering and haptics in a round-reading class, and also have weekly research meetings where we make progress on our research and receive questions and guidance. There are no core hours in this laboratory, and students can conduct research in their free time. About half of the lab members are international students, so there are many opportunities to experience cross-cultural contact and broaden your horizons. We also hold regular events to promote connections among lab members.
