  • Let's improve concrete technology!

Professor / SHIMOMURA Takumi, Associate Professor / NAKAMURA Fuminori, Technical Staff / YAMAGUCHI Takayuki
Professors Shimomura and Nakamura provide invaluable guidance in our research, while Mr. Yamaguchi provides indispensable support for our experimental works. Focusing on objectivity and logical thinking, our professors guide us to accurately analyze our experimental data and draw conclusions.

Research Content

In our laboratory, we conduct experiments and calculations to improve concrete structure maintenance. Professor Shimomura's group focuses on concrete structures and materials, exploring topics such as the impact of drying shrinkage on stress transfer properties and the practical use of prestressed concrete structures, aiming to enhance design and maintenance practices. Meanwhile, Professor Nakamura's group focuses on topics related to concrete and aerodynamics, examining phenomena such as the influence of wind and waves on predicting the transportation of airborne salt and storm surge propagation.

A Day in the Lab

As we constantly plan and work on our experiments and numerical calculations, we ensure regular communication with the professor through daily morning meetings and weekly seminars. Moreover, in our laboratory, we conduct experimental work as a team, setting aside any differences and benefiting from the constant support of both our senior and junior colleagues. Amid these activities, we share many enjoyable moments that strengthen both our professional partnerships and personal friendships. We invite you to consider joining us and becoming a part of our team.
