Accelerator Applications / Novel Material Design Laboratory

Professor / SUZUKI Tsuneo
  • The world’s top-level equipment for research
  • Finding out new possibilities by the minority elites
  • Let’s explore the potential of nitride thin films!

Professor / SUZUKI Tsuneo
Professor Suzuki is a specialist in the field of material engineering. He value his students’ needs first and never stops enlighten us with remarkable ideas to issues that come up in studies and researches. Furthermore, he gets along so well with the students due to his pleasant nature and friendly vibe, students are more open when talking to him.

Research Content

Our main objective is to use PLD(pulsed laser deposition)to find innovative materials. The world’s top research instruments, such as particle accelerators and electron microscopes(e.g., a variety of machine tools, equipment for assessment and experimentation), are available to our organization. Making it possible to create and assess novel materials. As an example, we have produced Cr-N-O thin films, which is only achievable with our equipment. Our tagline is “We are not just making thin films, we are making our futures.” We believe that the next revolution in material fields will be aided by our work.

A Day in the Lab

We exchange pleasantries and have brief discussions with one another to start the day. Students complete their research projects and communicate their findings to the lecturer during the weekly internal lab meeting. To deepen our understanding of research, we also participate in the Extreme Energy-Density Research Institute(EDI)seminar group. Additionally, we have the chance to attend numerous national and international conferences. Senpai that are kind and amiable and who are always willing to help with our problems. Since there aren’t many individuals in our lab, sensei is always available to keep an eye on things and provide guidance.
