Research Content

In the agriculture and fisheries industries, climate change and disease outbreaks are major challenges. We are engaged in cutting-edge technological development, utilising highly functional microorganisms and organic compounds, with the aim of addressing these issues. Going beyond fundamental research, these technologies are being developed into practical solutions for use in agricultural and fisheries settings. We are conducting research to develop highly palatable feed based on the molecular mechanisms underlying fish feeding behaviour, to produce virus-free clonal seed stock using epigenetics, and to develop biostimulants. Our research findings are expected to contribute to the development of global industries.

A Day in the Lab

We try to tackle cutting-edge research with a united team at the core of our efforts. The ability to create new value is thoroughly honed through independent thinking and discussion, and students go beyond simply acquiring knowledge. Practical skills required to bridge research and society are cultivated through collaboration with renowned researchers and business leaders in Japan and abroad. Extensive experience is gained through active participation in academic conferences and business competitions, as well as through collaboration with venture capital firms in the development of new ventures. “Do not stop at research. Make a difference in society.” Such an environment suits individuals with strong ambition.
