Response to the Novel Coronavirus Infection (2nd Notice)


(The first report has already been sent by email.)
The University has been taking necessary responses as announced in the first notice released on 31 January, however, considering the recent situation with the issue, the University asks all the students and faculty members to take the following responses regarding traveling to China, etc. and to students who have returned to or entered Japan from China.
1. Travelling to China, etc.

(1) As of 6 February, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’s travel information, the infectious disease advisory level for the entire Hubei Province is set to level 3 (avoid all travel) and other areas in China is set to level 2 (avoid non-essential travel).

(2) Considering the above-mentioned facts, the University bans all the travels to Hubei Province for the time being. In addition, in principle, the University is to ban travels to other areas of China, however, if you are in an unavoidable circumstance, please inform NUT Crisis Management Headquarters (see below for contact) and seek approval from the Head of NUT Crisis Management Headquarters (President).

(3) If you are planning to travel to countries or regions other than China, please be apprised of the latest information from the below-mentioned websites, etc. Please ensure your own safety and take necessary measures to protect yourself.

2.Regarding students who have returned to or entered Japan from China

(1) If you were in China at some point during the period of January to now, and have returned to or entered Japan, please inform the below-mentioned NUT offices.

(2) If you develop any symptoms of the novel coronavirus pneumonia such as coughing and fever after returning to or entering Japan, or if you were in contact with someone with a symptom and have developed a similar symptom yourself, please inform the below-mentioned NUT offices. In that case, please contact Public Health Centre and follow their advice. Be sure to contact the medical institution by telephone before your visit.

(3) The University asks you to stay at home (dormitory, apartment, etc.) for two weeks just to be sure, even if you do not have any symptoms (coughing, fever, etc.) and avoid unnecessary outings. If you are going out due to an unavoidable errand, please wear a face mask and avoid contact with others as much as possible.

In addition, for students who are sharing a room with others, the University has prepared rooms equipped with bathroom and toilet in dormitories that can be used for two weeks after returning to or entering Japan. If you wish to use one of these rooms, please inform the below-mentioned NUT offices.

(4) If you develop a symptom during the two-week period, follow the directions stated in the paragraph (2).
