Response to the Novel Coronavirus Infection (3rd Notice)

Recently Coronavirus disease infection has been expanding in Japan too. As a precaution of transmission of Coronavirus infection, the University cancels or postpones any events, symposiums and related social gatherings hosted by NUT as below. This response effects until the end of April however, this may be reviewed depends on the situation of coronavirus and necessary announcement will be made.

【Response to the Events】

1. The University cancels or postpones unnecessary and non-urgent events with many outside participants, which are hosted by NUT and venues offered by NUT.
2. In case of the University conducts event stated above 1, the University does not conduct social gathering or banquet after its event.
3. Any events hosted by other institutions, please follow the policy of the host institution.
4. Regarding the response of following individual events will be announced later

• Joint job fairs
• Graduation Ceremony
• Entrance Ceremony
• Orientation
• Guidance for New Students
• New Student Orientation Trip and etc.,

In addition, if you experience cold symptoms such as fever, please follow the “Prevention Measures and Guide of Consultation” which was released by Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare.

【Response to the experience of the cold symptom】

1. Please follow below before consult or visit to doctor

• If you experience cold symptoms such as fever, please do not come to the University and avoid unnecessary outings.
• If you experience cold symptoms such as fever, please take your temperature with clinical thermometer and record it every single day.

2. Measures of consultation to public health office

If you have any following symptoms, please consult with the consultation center for people with potential exposure to COVID-19:

• You have had cold symptoms or a fever of 37.5°C or over for four days or more. (including when you need to continue to take an antipyretic.)
• You have a strong feeling of weariness (fatigue) or shortness of breath (difficulty breathing).

If the consultation center suspects that you have been infected with the virus, it will introduce you to a medical institution where medical services for people with potential exposure to COVID-19 are available. Please visit the medical institution, wearing a facemask, and refrain from using public transportation.

【Daily prevention】
The University would like to ask all students and faculties to pay attention to latest news and take calm and proper behavior. Also, the University would like to ask all to wear a mask properly and avoid crowded areas upon outings and maintain personal hygiene especially wash your hands after outings and before meals, with soap and apply alcohol sanitizer to hands after washing.
