Professor / NOMURA Shusaku
Our professor genuinely cares about each lab member and supports us in both research and career development. He regularly speaks with students, offering valuable advice on research and job hunting. Fluent in Spanish and English, he creates an inclusive environment. His intelligence, humor, and leadership earn the trust and respect of everyone in the laboratory.

Research Content

In our laboratory, we investigate how environmental factors such as sound, visual stimuli, and physical support systems influence the human body. We evaluate biological signals under controlled conditions to understand psychophysiological responses. For example, we analyze how VR images generated from biological data and changes in music tempo affect viewers’ physiological and psychological states. We also assess long-term stress using biomarkers extracted from hair, nails, and saliva. In addition, we examine the physiological effects of a posture-adjustable bed that synchronizes movement with breathing patterns.

A Day in the Lab

1)Research Hours
Our lab has no fixed core hours, allowing students to work flexibly except for the weekly meeting. Many members come after classes, and since experiments are often conducted outside the lab, it can sometimes be quiet.

2)Lab Atmosphere
The atmosphere is friendly and supportive. While we take research seriously, we also enjoy casual conversations. When someone faces difficulties, we collaborate and help one another.

3)Lab Events
We also organize events such as gatherings, barbecues, and hiking trips. These activities help us relax, strengthen relationships, and interact with students from different years and our professors.
