Research Content

In the current social system, problems such as global warming and the depletion of energy resources are becoming increasingly serious and have a significant impact on society. Therefore, a low-carbon society that enables sustainable development is required. The 3E Laboratory conducts institutional design and policy proposals from an econometric perspective, taking into account the interrelationships among energy, the environment, and the economy. Using economic theory and statistical analysis, we study energy and environmental issues in both Japan and other countries and explore social systems aimed at solving these challenges.

A Day in the Lab

Our laboratory follows a flexible policy of “study anytime, anywhere” and does not have core working hours. However, students are expected to produce concrete research results. Seminars are held twice a week, where all students report on the progress of their own research and share and discuss the latest trends in energy and environmental issues. In addition, seasonal events are organized, creating a friendly research environment where students can enjoy their academic life regardless of grade or nationality.
