Professor / WATAHIKI Nobumichi
Prof. Watahiki’s study is in the field of engineering, management and sociology. In addition, he isn’t captured framework as Humanities and Sciences, he studies various fields. Also, he has experience of running businesses, so he has extensive knowledge and connections with each type of industry. The students of this laboratory can have valuable experience and relationship.

Research Content

Management Sociology laboratory regards connections between humans or things as network and study the specification and process of development.
Especially, the mainstream of this lab is study about “entrepreneurs’ network”, which expresses relationship between entrepreneurs and companies in Meiji period.
This research analyzes subjective information derived from literature and Geographic Information Systems(GIS), alongside quantitative indicators derived from network analysis and statistical analysis. It scientifically elucidates the relationship between entrepreneurial behavior and the process of social development, as well as geographical influences.

A Day in the Lab

Our laboratory has weekly seminar that a professor and the students gather for at all school years. In that, we do a presentation to share study updates and discuss them together.
Other than seminars, students do their study on their PC basically at their favorite time. Our laboratory has huge amount of literature, so some students study there.
Also, our laboratory conducts internships overseas. We have a connection with Romania. In fact, we have experience accepting Romanian exchange students.
