Machine-Environment System Design Engineering Laboratory

Professor / ABE Masajiro
  • Coordination among mega-machines, people, and the environment
  • Dynamic, macro, and micro science of systems
  • Innovations in Safety and Comfort

Professor / ABE Masajiro
They respects the independence of students and provides an environment where students can think and practice on their own. Even in such an environment, when students face difficult challenges, they are given appropriate advice at various points. The humorous aspect of the professors makes it possible for students to proceed with their research in a friendly atmosphere.

Research Content

Construction, Materials Handling, and snow removal machinery are useful. However, because of their large size and high output, accidents can be serious. We view these machines, people, and the environment as a single system. Our goal is for humans, AI, and machines to comfortably cooperate with each other and also with the environment. To this goal, we aim to establish the necessary dynamic analysis methods, DXR methods, and scientific guidelines for design and operation. We believe that our research can make social infrastructures better, safer, and more secure, and we are currently promoting related "science of technology".

Virtual simulator for outdoor work machinery using Unreal Engine

A Day in the Lab

Project-based research is conducted by four groups(The following themes are excerpts). Each member has an individual research theme within the overall group theme. Senior student becomes the project leader and conducts the research. Students voluntarily carry out everything from planning to mutual guidance. There are regular meetings and seminars once a week. There, they discuss with their professors and other students their research progress and plans, and trends in related research. There are no core hours, allowing students to conduct research at their own pace and in a relaxed atmosphere.
BBQs and other events are also held to deepen friendship.
