更新日:2023年10月12日

On September 30 (Saturday), Professor Osamu Takahashi (Vice President, NUT) and Professor Yukio Miyashita (Head, Global Education Center) attended the 2nd Japan–India Universities Forum held at the Prince Kyoto Takaragaike.

This forum was organized by the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) with the aim of building the foundations for exchange in order to promote further collaboration between Japan and India. The theme of this 2nd forum was the “Promotion of Brain Circulation between Japan and India”, and the participants included presidents and other representatives from 10 Indian universities and 20 Japanese universities, as well as representatives from companies.

The first session involved keynote speeches from Japanese and Indian universities and companies on industry-academia collaborations and cooperation in human resource development. This was followed by two round-table discussions on the themes of “The development of the environment for expanding Indian students and researchers to Japan” and “The academic-industry collaboration regarding HRD (human resources development) and/or the mobilization of HR”.

For the second session, individual venues were provided for Japanese and Indian universities to hold bilateral meetings. NUT held an in-depth discussion with the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, which is our collaborative partner for the Inter-University Exchange Project “International Cooperative Educational Program using Dual Internship on Multidimensional Campus”.

Another collaborative partner for this project is the University of York in the UK. Hereafter, NUT will engage in the promotion of exchanges among our three universities.
