On November 7 (Tuesday), “DX manufacturing workshops at Nagaoka 2023” was held at Aore Nagaoka using a hybrid format comprising on-site and online participation. This event, which was jointly organized by NUT and the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IITM), involved research presentations and discussions on the topic of DX manufacturing.

These workshops were mainly planned and implemented by students as part of an Inter-University Exchange Project. The event was chaired and presented by Professor R. Gnanamoothy from IITM, Ms. Usha Rani from IITM, and Associate Professor D. Kesavan from the Indian Institute of Technology Palakkad (IITP). In addition, many faculty members and students from India and NUT participated online. First, presentations on DX manufacturing were made by faculty members and researchers from each university, followed by presentations by students. After each presentation, there was a lively question-and-answer session on the presented content. This was followed by a panel discussion on application targets (automobiles, biomedical fields, etc.) and a dialogue on future exchanges and potential joint research between Japan and India.

NUT will continue to hold similar events to advance initiatives under the Inter-University Exchange Project, as well as to strengthen joint research and student exchanges with India.
