SDGs Promotion by Regional Cooperation

Support for local elementary and junior high schools

Nagaoka University of Technology (NUT) supports local elementary and junior high schools through initiatives such as school visits and campus tours, helping students deepen their awareness and understanding of the SDGs.

• NUT held an international exchange event "Let's talk in English with international students!" supported by our international students (FY2025)
• "p4c (philosophy for children) on the SDGs" event held with Student SDGs Promoters and children
• Nagaoka University of Technology organized an international exchange event "Let's talk in English with international students!" and supported by our international students (FY2023)
• The international exchange event “Let’s talk in English with international students!” was held with the support of international students at Nagaoka University of Technology (FY2022)
• Nagaoka City held a course on "Learning as a Family: Global Warming Countermeasures"
• Nagaoka University of Technology faculty member gave an online lecture for Nagaoka Tohoku Junior High School’s "Learn from the Professionals Talks"
• In 2021, Nagaoka University of Technology received The Award for Science and Technology by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology for the ninth consecutive year

SDG Talk Seminar

NUT strives to promote the SDGs by hosting SDG Talk Seminars for Nagaoka residents and the general public. In FY2025, the seminar was held as part of the international conference "STI-Gigaku".
