Visit to CFAA

On December 13, we visited CFAA (The Aeronautics Advanced Manufacturing Center) (https://www.ehu.eus/en/web/CFAA/home). CFAA is a research institute on the manufacturing technology of aircraft parts founded by the Basque Country. Its staff also work as faculty members of the University of the Basque Country. Dr. Aitzol Lamikiz, Vice President of CFAA, gave an excellent explanation of the current situation of aircraft part manufacturing in Spain and the role of CFAA. Then we visited the facilities and saw state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment, including a device that can simultaneously perform laser welding, electric welding, and electronic beam welding. In the future, we intend to promote both student and faculty exchanges, including multilateral internship programs.
