The First Meeting of the India Industry Creation Human Resource Development Committee (External Evaluation Committee)

On 25 January 2016, the First Meeting of the India Industry Creation Human Resource Development Committee was held at KKR Hotel in Tokyo. This external evaluation committee met to discuss the Re-Inventing Japan Project (India) entitled “Cooperative Engineer Education Program with South Indian Universities based on the Long-Term Internship Experience”.

The committee comprised external experts and representatives from industries and public interest corporations, and was set up to assess the overall program (including the content and achievement status of program activities), as well as to design and implement future improvements.

The meeting commenced with opening remarks by Prof. Yoshiki Mikami, Executive Director and Vice President of Nagaoka University of Technology. This was followed by Nagaoka University of Technology academic staff reporting on the activities undertaken in the program and the current challenges being faced. The committee members provided constructive remarks on the activities, and advised on the challenges in interacting with Indian partners and the operational management of the program.
